ALPSCALE Data Center

Author(s): ALPSCALE

The foundation for our high-availability data center is a laddered structure with cross-cabled and redundant components at every level: internet connection, firewalls, switches, servers, fiberchannel switches and storages.

Based on this, protocols such as RSTP, MRP, HSRP, VRRP or Etherchannel are used. This provides a robust basis for highly available server clusters.

ALPSCALE, for example, uses Proxmox as a hypervisor and cluster solution. Proxmox is based on KVM and LXC, is open source and is maintained by the Austrian company Proxmox Server Solutions GmbH.

Furthermore, the highly available Kubernetes clusters allow containerized applications that are flexible and scalable to be released to production in a matter of seconds.
